The show opened with an episode of Truth TV with Stephanie McMahon as the guest. Shane McMahon interrupted, then Vince McMahon interrupted, and they all danced. Just a simple, good and fun open to the show.
The Usos defeated Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles. After some miscommunication from Styles and Bryan, the Usos hit a double superkick and pinned Bryan. Styles was upset after the match. This was a good and basic match to get some heat between Bryan & Styles and also give the Usos a big and needed win.
Teddy Long, Vickie Guerrero, and John Laurinaitis made backstage cameos.
Evolution got back together. Randy Orton tried to put himself over at the expense of the group and Batista teased fighting Triple H again, but nothing really happened. This was another fun little segment, and possibly set up the long rumored Batista vs. HHH match.
World Cup Qualifying Match: The Miz defeated Rusev. Kurt Angle was on commentary. Aiden English distracted Rusev, allowing Miz to roll Rusev up and win the match in about 45 seconds. After the match, Rusev beat up English.
Edge returned, and hosted The Cutting Edge with Becky Lynch as a guest. He attempted to convince Becky that she’d made a bad decision choosing her career over her friendship with Charlotte Flair. Becky told him to stop disrespecting her and get out of her ring. Charlotte showed up, and she and Becky brawled. I really liked that, Edge got to play the role of Foley here, and was the right guy to have that talk with Becky, but Becky was having none of it and continued to be great. They did their best to heel Becky, but the crowd love her no matter what.
Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: The Bar defeated The New Day (c). Booker T and Jerry Lawler were on weird side-commentary. Big Show interfered to prevent The Bar from putting Kofi Kingston through a table, then turned heel on him randomly and put him through the table himself. Sheamus hit Big E with a Brogue Kick to win the match and the Smackdown Tag Team Championship. This was an overall good match despite the flat ending. Big Show is back two weeks and already turned heel, but him with the Bar is at least new. Celebrate Smackdown 1000 with Big Show turn 1000.
The Rock tweeted about Smackdown. John Cena sent in a video greeting.
World Cup Qualifying Match: Rey Mysterio defeated Shinsuke Nakamura. Mysterio won after a 619 and a springboard frog splash. This was a solid match, with some communication issues, and a surprising lack of heat.
The Undertaker showed up just to say “rest in peace” to D-X.
End of show.
