Results: House Of Hardcore, Sydney (14/07/18

July 14, 2018

Results from Daniel Wilson.

Billy Gunn def. Lance Archer - Solid opener, Archer got the crowd heat with the water spitting/interupting Gunn promo, throwing fans backpack. Gunn picked up the win via the FameAsser.

Joey Mercury def. Caveman Ugg - Ugg was extremely over with the Sydney crowd. Joey Mercury was respectful at the beginning to change his tune after Ugg got the better of the early exchange. Mercury using ropes during pin for cheap win

Al Snow def. Mohammed Ali Vaez-  It was all about the Head in this one. Snow and Ali Vaez teased it until the finish when Snow cracked Ali Vaez with it for the win. Some fun spots in the match including the Eddie Guerrero smash the chair on the ground and play dead spot.

Nick Aldis def. Robbie Eagles - Match restarted after Aldis pinned Eagles and ref didn’t notice Eagles foot on the rope. Robbie Eagles and Nick Aldis put on a super match, with Robbie hitting Sliced Bread No. 2 and his 450 splash, but couldn’t quite get there. Aldis eventually getting the cloverleaf finisher. Just like Ugg Robbie was very over. Standing ovations given and match of the night IMO.

Angelina Love w/ Velvet Sky def. Madison Eagles and Shazza McKenzie - Great match that showcased what most of us already know, which is how awesome Madison and Shazza are. The two of the carried the match with Angelina getting a swoop in bicycle kick finish

Willie Mack def. Andy Phoenix - Willie Mack is super talented and that was on display for all to see in this match. Phoenix was solid and played his part as the heel very well.

Hornswoggle, Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray def.  Squad World Order aka Spirit Squad - Kenny Dykstra deserves some credit for his Mic work, as when he announced Mikey in particular he used a lot of Aussie Lingo in a short space of time and I was impressed he remembered it all. This was definitely a nostalgia match, with Bully Swoggle and Dreamer getting to hit their signature moves on the Squad. After the match descended into chaos, Foley made the save and Mr Socko made an appearance to set up a table spot to close the match.

All in all I really enjoyed the show and have to give props to the promotion and wrestlers who looked after one guy named Tommy extremely well. Confined to a wheelchair, with the meet and greets up on the stage, they checked in with him and brought down everyone he wanted to meet throughout the evening all of whom spent time talking with him and taking pics. The best part of it all was when the last match was over, Foley got on the mic and revealed it was the guys dream to step in the ring, so staff and even Foley, Bully and Dreamer themselves got the guy into the ring and had him standing, the crowd behind them the whole time. It was a great moment and a nice way to end a good evening.
